Food is one of the largest expenses a family can have each month, which is why I'm a big believer in and lover of weekly meal plans.
I never used to be, but I am now!
Especially since we have been meal planning for over a month now.

With October half over we are looking good as well. And this is while we buy groceries in two separate cities as I am with my son in another city transitioning him into a move and my wife is back home with our daughter, so we have purchased some duplicate grocery orders this month too.

This is pretty exciting, considering we do try to buy mostly organic goods when available.
Our current changes are also eliminating a lot of food waste, which is a big problem in Canada today.
According to CBC, more than $31 billion worth of food is wasted every year in Canada and when energy, water and other resource costs are factored in the true cost could be up to three times that much, a new report suggests. That’s a lot of money!
